Thai ex-PM freed on parole after 15 yrs in exile, 6 months of detention

Thaksin Shinawatra, former Thai PM, released on parole after 6 months. Fled 15 years ago after a coup. Accused of abuse of power, he was in a luxury hospital wing. Thaksin returned at dawn in tinted-windowed vehicles, accompanied by his youngest daughter, leader of the ruling Pheu Thai party.
